Navigators to Leaders Program
In the spirit of hope and progress that has characterized our journey thus far, we find ourselves at a pivotal momenet of expansion. Our successful iniatives have created a positive ripple effect, leading to requests to extend our programs to several counties in Northern California.
We are honored to share that in July 2023 we have secured a gran from Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) of $100,000 to bolster our outreach efforts. Building on this momentum, we are gearing up to request an additonal funding from Department of Developmental Services (DDS). These funds are earmarked for the the establishment of California, a monumental step in supporting our groundbreaking "Navigators to Leaders" iniative. This venture is not just a project, but a movement aiming to reshape the service landscape in California, fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for underrepresented individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).
FUFE is actively developing our first brick and mortar service center! This center aims to become a cornerstone in our mission to foster equity and provide essential resources and support to our community's diverse needs. Our state of the art service center will include Clinical Assessments, Screening, Navigation Services, and Early Start services such as Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Play Therapy, and Behavior Therapy Services.
Our "Navigators to Leaders" program has been been meticulously crafted to nurture individual with culturally competent training, skills, and advocacy. This iniative is a major step to a brighter future, where I/DD individuals and their families are equipped to independently navigate the Regional Center system to obtain essential services, system to obtain essential services, while also aiding others in understandingthe process. We firmly believe that expanding this program statewide will greatly help families by creating a sytem where equitable services and effective communication are the norm, not the exception.
As we envision a future where inclusivity and equity are woven into the very fabric of the Regional Center System in California. We believe that together we can path the path to a society where every I/DD individual, irrespective of their background, has the opportunity to lead a fulfulling life, contributing positively in the community.
